Dan DiMonte is an Iowa City-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer transplanted from the southwest suburbs of Chicago. The Bad Assettes, the powerhouse jazz rock band that brings DiMonte’s compositions to life, consists of Dan Padley on guitar, Reid Turner on keyboards, Blake Shaw on bass, Jonathan Birdsall on saxophone, and Carlo Kind on drums. DiMonte has performed his original compositions in venues and festivals with the Bad Assettes across the state of Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and Wisconsin. He has shared stages with touring musicians such as Jon Wayne and the Pain, Sami Grisafe, and Tony Memmel. DiMonte and company have been featured on Iowa Public Radio’s Java Blend, the Iowa City Jazz Festival, Solon’s Music on Main Street, and the Iowa City Summer of the Arts Saturday Concert Series. DiMonte’s debut album entitled “The Runner, The Ends, The Space Between” was released to the rowdy crowd of the Iowa City Yacht Club, and the band continues to share their brand of jazz rock on stages all across the Midwest and beyond.
